Are you a health care provider, dietician or nutritionist interested in the non-diet and Intuitive Eating approach?

Intuitive Eating is a supportive, practical process to help clients let go of dieting, to develop a healthier relationship with food and establish a more peaceful relationship with their bodies. Intuitive Eating is an evidenced-based, weight-neutral model comprised of 10 Principles. Intuitive Eating was created by two American dietitians, Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch in 1995. Intuitive Eating has a validated assessment scale and to date there are over 90 studies. (

This training is aimed at health care professionals who want to:

  • learn about Intuitive Eating
  • learn about the non-diet approach
  • offer more than an eating plan
  • introduce a different approach for counselling clients with eating challenges

The workshop will be facilitated by Gayle Landau and Xenia Ayiotis.

Gayle Landau | BSc med (Hons) Nutrition & Dietetics (UCT)
Gayle qualified with a BSc (Medical Honours) in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Cape Town in 1998. She completed the Intuitive Eating PRO skills training course & supervision with Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch and is a Certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor. She applies the principles of Intuitive Eating when she counsels and has developed the Restore ME mindful eating programme suitable for individual and group counselling sessions. Gayle is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and Association of Dietetics in South Africa (ADSA).

Xenia Ayiotis | BA (Hons) MA (Wits)
Xenia is a certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor, Mindful Eating coach and Life coach. Xenia has been working with the non-diet approach since 2011 helping clients who want to make peace with food, eating and their bodies. Xenia offers private consultations, 8 week group programmes and retreats. Her approach is to help clients find tools that are sustainable to create a positive relationship with food through mindfulness and intuitive eating. Xenia is a professional member of The Centre for Mindful Eating and The Association for Size Diversity and Health.
