I am blessed to have readers all over the world. Thanksgiving is a tradition celebrated in the USA but the meaning of this holiday is valuable to all of us around the world.

Many people say Thanksgiving is their favourite holiday and that they plan for it months in advance. For some people though, the time between Thanksgiving and the New Year can be complicated at the best of times.
This year, chances are it could be even more complicated, given the restrictions around contact with friends and family.
When there is still so much up in the air, it is hard for us to focus, especially if we are feeling depleted.
How do we nurture and nourish ourselves this holiday?
One of the many ways, is the practice of gratitude.
Practicing gratitude for what we have is one of the simplest ways to shift your mood and bring yourself into the present moment.

“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”

– Ralph Waldo Emerson –

Here are 10 Thanksgiving reflections to help guide you in your practice. Take a deep breath, pause and reflect…

  1. What are 5 things you are grateful for at this time?
  2. Who are the people you grateful to and why?
  3. What are the things you are thankful about yourself?
  4. What foods are you grateful for?
  5. What are you grateful to your body for?
  6. Who can you express gratitude to?
  7. What random act of kindness can you do?
  8. What is one small thing you can start that your future self with thank you for?
  9. What are the simple things you are thankful for?
  10. What can you thank your past self for?

May your Thanksgiving be filled with blessings and joy.
May you and your loved ones be healthy and happy.
May you always feel an abundance of love, laughter and grace.
May the blessing of this day fill your heart and home.
With love and gratitude to you dear reader.

All my best,
Xen

“From our first meeting - two faces on Zoom across the world from each other, there was a sense of familiarity and comfort that was a healing balm for a lifetime of food struggles and dieting. Without realizing how much damage I had done to myself by adhering, for decades, to restrictive food plans and rigid diet programs, Xen had a way of redirecting the harsh and negative self-talk and sending me forth each week with compassion, mindfulness and a new way of seeing myself in the here and now. Gone are the maybe somedays, and if-only, and when-I’m-smaller thinking. Now I am committed to the imperfect and rocky path to listening to my body, accepting my perfect imperfections, and rejecting diet mentality. Those negative voices will revisit me from time to time, I know, but Xen has offered valuable tools for meeting each day as a fresh start - another choice, another chance. Her devotion to this work and her belief in her clients is a remarkable gift; I am so fortunate to have found her. It is never too late to let go of the drama and embrace joy, ease and self-acceptance.”
